I hear you ask, "What? Kinship-wide event? But Aquilla, that's impossible! We're on different sides of the ocean. Why, some of us haven't even gotten the game yet!"

I tell you, pish-posh. Cool

How would you guys like to engage in some kinship-wide TOLKIEN TRIVIA this Saturday? Well, Tolkien Gateway has a trivia game that I think would be the perfect excuse for us to get together. Forums are great and all, but there's just something about live interaction. I was thinking we could play at maybe 2:00 pm EDT (that's 6:00 pm GMT). This could give us some nice interaction time with each other.

And to make it even MORE exciting, I'll even throw in some prizes. Very Happy Okay, so not that great of prizes, but they're what I can manage right now. We'll play 3 rounds of trivia, roughly 20 minutes a piece. The top scorer for each round will get a custom rank on the forums (A word or title underneath your name on all of your posts, designating you a "Chief Cake Eater" or "Fuzzy Muskrat" or whatever you choose), with the #1 high score be allowed to have their own custom avatar (limited by the necessary size limitations). So what do you think? Interested?

So I know what you're thinking...
"Aquilla, how do I join this totally awesome nerd fest."

Well, it's an IRC chat channel. If you know what that means, use your favorite IRC chat client. If you have no idea what IRC chat means, then just go to http://tolkiengateway.net/java/ That will take you to the TolkienGateway main chat forum. Once it's loaded, in the bar on the bottom, you want to type "/join #trivia"

This will take you to the trivia room. Once you're there, you can set your name to whatever you want to be known as by typing /nick SOMENAME, where SOMENAME is what you wanted to be called.

So what do you think? Wanna play? Very Happy

Great idea Aquilla!

I'll have to pass this go around since I'll be playing soccer dad most of Saturday, but hope there's a great turn out.

Wow, Aquilla I applaud you! This is truly an excellent idea! Alas I'll be working all day Saturday (even if i weren't my Tolkien trivia knowledge is less than it should be) but I'm sure everyone will have a very good time, I really wish I could be there...(begins to plot a fake death to avoid work on Saturday)

I'll try make it if I can, but typically I'm doing something with the family during the day; saving the evenings for daddy-time.

It's unlikely I will be able to join you, but if I can manage it I will see you there. In case I don't make it I'll wish you all the best now. I hope you all have great time.

Very nice idea Aquilla, and if I'm able to get on the computer I'll be there Smile

However, wife is not working and as she's worked the last few I don't really think I can spend her night off playing on the computer.... if only she was a LotR fan I could have brought her along Smile

What a wonderful idea. I would love to be there, but 6pm GMT is too early for me, especially at the weekend. IF I can I will be there, but I doubt it.

Have fun guys Smile
